Post-UTME/Direct Entry Screening Exercise for 2024/2025

Akwa Ibom State University, Ikot Akpaden is excited to invite online applications from all qualified candidates for the 2024/2025 academic year. This invitation is extended to those who participated in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) candidates seeking admission into various undergraduate programs.

AKWA IBOM STATE UNIVERSITY POST UTME

UTME Admission Requirements:

1. Candidates should have at least five (5) credit passes, including English Language, from SSCE, GCE O’Level, or any other equivalent examinations.
2. A minimum UTME score of 140 is required, although this is subject to change.
3. A Post-UTME screening score of not less than 180 is also required, with the possibility of change.
4. It is necessary for candidates to have listed Akwa Ibom State University as their First (1st) Choice Institution to qualify for the Post-UTME Screening Test.
5. Please note that candidates who score below 140 in the Post-UTME screening test will not be considered for admission, even if they have higher UTME scores.
6. Final admission decisions will be based on the average scores from both the UTME and Post-UTME screening tests.

Keep in mind that the cut-off point for admission may vary between different programs.

Direct Entry Admission Requirements:

• Candidates must have at least five (5) credit passes, including English Language, from SSCE, GCE O’Level, or equivalent qualifications.
• Either A’ levels, OND, or NCE in relevant subject areas are required.
• An acceptable score in the Direct Entry Screening Exercise is necessary.
• Final selection will be based on a combination of the candidate’s certificates and their score in the Direct Entry Screening Test.

Registration Period:

The university portal for online registration will be open from Monday, August 5, 2024, to Friday, August 30, 2024. Candidates are encouraged to complete their registration before the deadline. Unfortunately, candidates who miss this registration period will not be considered for admission.
